At Ginger & Poppy we want you to have the most relaxed, stress-free experience.  We are all about providing you with effortless, modern bridal wear in a comfortable and fun atmosphere.

Have a look below at some common questions that are asked so you are ready for your appointment!

  • DO I NEED TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
    Yes! We work by appointment only so that we can provide a relaxed and comfortable experience in which we can give you our full attention and help you find your dream dress. Please note, like many other bridal stores, the first Bridal Appointment has a fee of AED 150. You will have 90 minutes exclusive use of the shop with stylist working with you one-on-one who has full knowledge of all of our dresses and brands.
  • WHAT’S THE CANCELLATION POLICY FOR APPOINTMENTS?
    We understand that plans change but we ask you give us at least 24 hours notice. Any appointments not rescheduled or cancelled 24 hours before will not be refunded or transferred.
  • WHEN SHOULD I START LOOKING FOR MY DRESS?
    The ideal time is 12-14 months before your wedding and purchasing it 9-12 months before. Dresses can take between 6 – 7 months to produce and we need to allow at least 6-8 weeks for any alterations.
  • HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
    We allow up to 3 of your closest friends/family. We’re a small boutique with limited seating but we also find that this is a good number of people in order not to have too many different opinions and you can focus on what you love!
  • WHAT SHALL I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
    We recommend you wear nude, seamless underwear and you can bring stick on cups, nipple covers or a strapless or backless bra. Lots of our dress styles have low v-necks or are backless so if you want to go braless that also works! Whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. Bring a pair of heels as well of a similar height to what you may wear. We do recommend wearing heels for your appointment even if you don't plan on high ones/wearing any as the sample dresses are very long. We would also appreciate if you wore minimal make-up especially foundations or fake tan to keep our gowns white!
  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY DRESS TO ARRIVE?
    Standard ordering time is 6-7 months for all designers. Some designers can offer shorter timelines. If you are getting married sooner than that timeline then don’t panic – most brands offer a rush service at an extra fee. (This cost varies by designer) Any dresses ordered with 6 months or less before your wedding will have to be considered as a rush order.
  • WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF YOUR GOWNS?
    Our gowns range from AED 8000 to about AED 22,000 with most of them sitting between AED 10,000 and AED 17,000. This price excludes any alteration you will need for the final fitting.
  • DO I NEED ALTERATIONS & ARE THEY OFFERED?
    Almost all of our dresses will need alterations when they arrive. Our designers make dresses to a standard size, they’re not ‘made-to-measure’. When you buy a gown, we will take your measurements and order the size closest to you. If you’re between sizes we will size up as we can always take it in. We do not offer alterations in-house, but we will recommend where to get alterations done.
  • WHAT SIZE ARE YOUR SAMPLE GOWNS?
    Because our dresses are made to order we only hold sample pieces in our shop. The majority of the dresses are approximately a UK 10 to UK 14 and we have some styles in a UK 16-18. We have creative ways of fitting and pinning the dress on you so you can imagine how it would look in your size. We are working on providing a larger range of sample sizes.
  • WHAT PAYMENT METHOD DO YOU ACCEPT?
    We accept cash, card & Stripe payments. We require a 50% initial payment to order the dress and the remaining balance after 90 days for normal orders and after 60 days for rush orders.
  • CAN I RETURN OR EXCHANGE MY DRESS?
    As our wedding dresses are made to order, they are all final sale. Once the first payment is made on ordering, you are in a contractual agreement to follow through with the final payment. Accessories can be returned or exchanged within 7 days. Earrings cannot be returned or exchanged for hygiene reasons.
